Katassamalass is following the Thrash / Death Metal “Undertakers” formed by Dede (ex-guitarist of Massacra Noise ), which was originally the singer-drummer when the band was a group of Trash Metal.Jean-Yves then resumed singing, group turned to Trash / Death.
With at the time as training: Dede: drums, Jean-Yves: singing, Anthony: guitar, Pogo low.
With the arrival of Gabriele, the new guitarist, the group integrates new influences such as Black Metal, Gabriele now also provides backing vocals in addition to the deep voice of Jean-Yves.
The starting Dede fired at the group Brutal Death Metal with Black Metal influences and Trash Metal with the arrival of new drummer Olivier, and Gabriele provides new compositions as well as parts made by Anthony. Dede assured the composition of pieces of Undertakers with Anthony.
The group changed its style, name, he now called himself Katassamalass, Gabriele and Anthony decide to replace Jean-Yves to get a more understandable vocals, Gabriele provides vocals and guitar and Anthony now provides the backing vocals.
The band recorded its first demo of 5 songs: Extreme brutality and chains concerts: Store 4, Frontline, small festivals Grind and Death Metal, etc …
Given the success of the first demo and meeting with the Black Metal band: Svartkrist, having become friends, the two groups decided to record a split lp: Katassamalass: Mutilated Penis / Svartkrist: Total Blasphemy, which will be signed under the label: Painkiller. Katassmalass never had formal but bassist Karl Penning and François Lambert as a session bass players. The group then separated because of the departure of abriele, not wanting to follow the musical direction chosen by the other members of the group who wanted to upgrade to the Grind Core.
A few years later, Gabriele, who is the author of almost all the pieces of Katassamalass, decides to take any solo pieces played by Katassamalass at the time, including songs taken from Undertakers, the group continued to play a few times.
It includes two new songs, reworked in his own way the songs and the vocals of Anthony for the album which will be called as the first demo: Extreme brutality.
